Magazine Rack

FURNITURE PIECE:  Butterfly wing end table and magazine rack,

By:  B. P. John Furniture Corporation

Our goal is to showcase several of the General Finishes water-based products that are new to our store.  We were fortunate enough to acquire a butterfly wing magazine rack made by B. P. John Furniture Company.  After much discussion, we decided to paint several layers of color on the piece, and then distress the piece back down to showcase the layered colors under the Antique White topcoat.

For this project, we used General Finishes products:

       Coral Crush Milk Paint

       Lime Green Milk Paint

       Sunglow Yellow Milk Paint

       Corinth Blue Milk Paint

       Antique White Milk Paint

       Red Sienna water-based Glaze Effects

High Performance, (water-based Polyurethane topcoat) Satin sheen

Here is the start of the first coat of Coral Crush.
Note the detail on the wings.

Note the fantastic swan motif on the outside
of the magazine compartment.

Three colors on the piece:  Coral Crush, Lime Green, and Sunglow Yellow.

Corinth Blue in the belly of the table.

Here is the table clad in Antique White.

We hope you have enjoyed the progress of our magazine table makeover.
Stay tuned for our next venture:  a chest of drawers makeover!
